Healthcare
TechNexxus has extensive experience in every facet of the business, technology, legal and regulatory challenges facing the healthcare industry, including acute care, long-term care, healthcare distribution, medical materials management and billing systems.
Sometimes the work is colorful -- e.g., Blue Cross, Red Cross, Gold Cross Ambulances.... Sometimes it is somber (e.g., the back office processes, system integration, network architecture and outsourcing for the largest nationwide funeral home chain), sometimes it is bright (e.g., assisting companies that use lasers and fiber optics to improve the quality of healthcare) and sometimes it is very, very small (e.g., when we assist our clients to design, source, build and manage nanotechnologies). In every event, we have found our work supporting the healthcare industry to be rewarding and our processes, methodologies, tools, skills and experience to be exceptionally well suited to the needs of the healthcare industry.
Recently, the increased focus on privacy regulations has created a level of confusion and uncertainty in many organizations. The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), Childrens' Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), European Union Data Directive, privacy provisions of the Communications Act, state privacy laws, and the developing body of privacy-related common law creates a myriad of complex laws governing, and business and technical requirements applicable to the sensitive health care information that health care organizations routinely possess. TechNexxus is working with a number of clients to chart the optimal course through these confusing, and at times apparently conflicting, requirements.
To further enhance our efficiency and effectiveness, we have developed HIPAA security and compliance programs to facilitate rapid application of coordinated business, technical and legal advice for your business. The TechNexxus healthcare specialists have extensive experience in structuring outsourcing arrangements for hospital clients who contract with independent parties for the management of one or more of their units. These arrangements are very common when acute care hospitals provide non-acute services such as rehabilitation and psychiatric programs. Generally, the management company takes responsibility for the administration of the unit and for the provision of key personnel, including, in some cases, the physicians and other clinical staff. Non-acute hospitals also have begun to use these types of arrangements to manage certain of their services as well. We also assist hospital management companies that enter into management contracts to operate entire institutions, not just a single unit of the hospital.
TechNexxus has particular expertise in the development of advanced supply chain optimization and inventory management systems for the healthcare industry. Click here to learn more about TechNexxus Supply Chain and Inventory Optimization Solutions.
