A Manufacturing Company

"was faced with the reality that they had to replace their obsolete financial systems. It wasn't their choice -- they had to make the change because their current software vendor was no longer providing support for their installed products and systems at the heart of the production environment that runs their quickly growing company. When they started looking at their options, they determined that many of their other business systems were obsolete as well.

The solution appeared clear: implement a complete suite of integrated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) business applications; make sure that they selected a platform that would grow to support their manufacturing, inventory and distribution requirements; and get it done quickly enough to ensure that it wouldn't interfere with 4th quarter seasonal sales increases and year-end close activity. However, the client recognized that implementing a complete suite of business systems requires significant levels of project management and technical skills, as well as the ability to manage the massive changes in processes and training requirements associated with the new systems, that they didn't posses in-house.

Most importantly, our client recognized that they needed a trusted guide who could assist them to manage changes in culture and business processes that were required to achieve success. A clear case of needing a business solution that was better, cheaper and faster than the available alternatives. Usually you only get to pick two. However, in this case, TechNexxus assisted the client to architect, source and implement the optimal solution that met all three of their demanding requirements.

Suppliers were working on-site within 90 days of the start of the TechNexxus engagement -- in other words, within three months we assisted the client to:

  • Define and Document Goals and Objectives
  • Collect Necessary Information
  • Develop Appropriate Financial Models
  • Issue RFIs, RFPs and requests for Best and Final Offers
  • Evaluate Vendor Proposals
  • Negotiate Mutually Beneficial Agreements with Suppliers
  • Draft Contract Documentation
  • Transition; and
  • Commence the manage and implementation of the contract

    The moral of this story: "Doing the right things, in the right order with the right people at the right time did not hinder the client's aggressive plans in the least. To the contrary, our process delivered far better results quicker than alternative approaches. Greater efficiency facilitates transaction speed, and vice versa. Both resulted in cost savings that were realized by our client."

    Big 3 Auto Manufacturer: TechNexxus structured one of the largest global application development, implementation and maintenance outsourcing programs using function points, earned value, SEI levels and other performance criteria woven into the contract to assure our client appropriate performance, quality and productivity.

    Financial Services: Our intimate understanding of mainframe, midrange and network hardware, software and services markets enabled us to structure an innovative "utility" model transaction, even in a sole source environment, that positioned our client to achieve substantial savings.

    Hospitality and Reservation Services: TechNexxus has worked with several of the largest hospitality chains and online reservations services companies around the world to structure innovative franchising and licensing programs, yield management algorithms, global networks (satellite, terrestrial and internet based) and outsourced human resource, business and technology functions.
