David Baumann specializes in very large and creative multi-national business process, information technology and telecommunications transactions, including outsourcing, offshore sourcing, functional and business process re-engineering and the procurement of sophisticated hardware, software, networks, systems and services for a wide range of clients and technology vendors (when vendors purchase technology products, systems, networks and services). Additionally, David has worked with TechNexxus to develop a state-of-the-art system for identifying client business requirements, modeling financial requirements, developing requests for proposals (RFPs), evaluating vendor responses, developing appropriate documentation and closing transactions that deliver superior value. He has also developed an array of systems with TechNexxus to support the efficient and effective management of contracts and vendor relationships.
David previously served as Vice President and General Counsel of Technology Partners, Inc., one of the leading information technology outsourcing consulting firms. During his tenure with TPI, David was also the founder of the TPI outsourcing vendor online directory and Vice President of the TPI Directory Services Corporation. David assisted TPI’s work on numerous technology outsourcing transactions, providing consulting and legal services to TPI clients and a broad range of general counsel services and functions to the TPI companies.
Previously, Mr. Baumann was also a partner / member of DLA Piper, Winston & Strawn, LB3 and Mintz, Levin, resident in the firms’ Washington offices, where he led the technology transactions and intellectual property groups. Before private legal practice and business and technology consulting, David was Senior Attorney/Division Counsel for the Southeast Division of the MCI Communications Corporation, responsible for MCI’s regulatory authority and research and development joint venture agreements in the Southeast region.
Throughout his career, Mr. Baumann has gained substantial experience designing, developing and managing successful technology solutions, and profitable companies built on standardized repeatable processes and innovative technologies (including eCommerce and eBusiness applications, knowledge management, geographic information systems, call centers, application service providers, multimedia and business modeling). His experience includes several successful database-driven internet-based applications and application service providers. He also founded LexiComm Multimedia Works, LLC one of the first internet development companies in the mid-Atlantic region, whose operations have been merged into the Infinite Multimedia Network.

Todd has served as CIO and now serves as virtual CIO, CFO and CTO to some of the most successful and innovative telecommunication and technology companies. Todd has an MBA in telecommunications and finance as well as a BS degree in computer science.

Jeff Smith has over twenty years of extensive business, technical, and management consulting experience. Professionally recognized as a leader of leaders, developer of future leaders, an expert in project management, and “go-to” guy for innovations required for opening new frontiers, and solving highly complex business, technology and transformation challenges for the US Federal Government, Military, and many of the world’s largest enterprises.
His prior experience includes positions as President and CEO of Black Lab Security Systems (BLS2), a high-technology cyber security product firm, and Chief Technology Strategist for IBM’s Department of Defense and Network Centric Operations (NCO) Consulting Services, guiding major business capture, partnering, and customer education activities. Jeff also actively advised the IBM Corporation Executive Management in enterprise and technology transformation from 1995 to 2001, contributing to total accumulated net savings exceeding $19 billion. Was a member of an elite team of transformation specialists that IBM relied upon to actively direct and re-engineer IBM while performing consulting related customer facing and project oversight roles.
Jeff educated and advised US Army CIO Leadership (VCNO), NETCOM (Fort Huachuca) and Knowledge On-Line (AKO) Executive Team on intranet portals, knowledge management, search engine semantics, enterprise document management, communities, role based support, governance, NIPRNet & SIPRNet secured approaches, IBM’s internal portal implementation, program management, and technology evolution.
He was awarded the prestigious IBM Leadership Award for innovative enterprise / logistics solutions and exceptional customer satisfaction & quality. Jeff provided executive level consulting in the formation of General Motor’s Saturn Corporation and the team based engineering of the first generation Saturn car and also brokered the use of GE Plastics for the vehicles’ exterior panels, facilitated UAW Union Agreements for Spring Hill, TN factory, and directed Saturn Information Systems. Last but not least, Jeff is the COO of TechNexxus.
Chris was named one of the top privacy advisors in 2010 by ComputerWorld. Chris is also a contributing author to the recently published book titled “Building a Privacy Program: A Practitioner’s Guide.” Prior to joining TechNexxus and PROmorfable, Chris was the Vice President, Information Protection & Privacy at Marriott International, Inc., a function he created in 1999. In this role Chris had responsibility for all global information protection & privacy activities including executive advocacy, policy, awareness programs, training, information mapping, risk assessment and remediation, and legal compliance, including PCI DSS. Chris and his team collaborated with management across all Marriott business units and departments to ensure that the Company’s valuable information assets were identified, adequately protected and leveraged for economic gain in a privacy sensitive manner. Chris also served as Chair of the Information Security & Privacy Governance Committee and was a member of the eBusiness Council.
Chris is a past-president, treasurer and a founding board member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) and recipient of 2006 IAPP Vanguard Award as the Chief Privacy Officer of the Year. He is also a past member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Telecommunications and eCommerce Committee.
John Stufflebeem is a gifted speaker and communicator for TechNexxus, drawing from his experiences of leadership, risk and opportunity from more than thirty years service in the U.S. Navy. He is a retired admiral, combat veteran, jet fighter pilot having flown from the decks of aircraft carriers all over the globe, aide to a U.S. president, military spokesman to the world following the attacks of 9/11, and former NFL football player. He has widely spoken before heads of state, parliaments, sports groups, corporate officials, schools, and associations.
John commanded an F-14 Tomcat fighter squadron, aircraft carrier air wing, a carrier battle group, task force in Iraq, and was the U.S. 6th Fleet commander all in war. His experience from the White House observing pinnacle national leadership during wartime, as well as his own in the Pentagon following the attacks of 9/11, taught him how to be a clear thinker under excruciating pressure. He was a success at every level of leading in the military rising to rank of Vice Admiral.
Over a long and highly decorated career, both professionally and personally, John has learned how to deal with and manage risk to turn potential defeat into victory—disaster into success. Bobby uniquely adds value by combining legal training and experience with an extensive, firsthand understanding of high-technology systems and software. He is a seasoned IT and security professional and bi-lingual attorney with experience in outsourcing contracts, corporate technology transactions and technology law.
Bobby’s noteworthy tech experience traces back to Digicon Corporation as well as the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory. While there, he drafted policy and procedures recommendations for IT department’s handling of legal hold requests of ESI and made recommendations on improving APL’s process to survive scrutiny during potential litigation; participated in the team that implemented automated e-Discovery software (Encase Enterprise with the e-Discovery module) for collection and examination of ESI under legal hold; worked closely with an IT Communications group responsible for providing network resources to campus of 40 buildings, 5000 staff, consultants and government sponsors; led Subject Matter Expert (SME) for IP Telephony Network System operations; performed maintenance and upgrades of voice communications services; recommended and implemented security measures (including IP Security and GRE) for remote offices connected by wide area network (WAN); designed and led phone system deployment enhancement effort that reduced by half the amount of effort required for our team and included an under-used resource to increase efficiency.
As a systems engineer, Bobby has designed, implemented, managed, maintained and upgraded complex, large, highly available communications and networking systems. In addition to that, Bobby has also been a Qualified State of Maryland Interpreter for the past 14 years. He brings a wealth of hands-on technological experience to TechNexxus and challenges the team to push to the boundaries of innovation and ingenuity.
Also at the TechNexxus round table sits Colby Miller, who brings big-picture marketing and graphic design expertise to an already impressive team. As Creative Director, Colby’s skilled contributions exceed mere visual blueprinting and production (though that’s part of it), offering a sweeping review of media, markets, and messaging.
A bright young talent, Colby has quickly gained industry praise for his contributions to multiple site and software development projects, including the proprietary Endo methodology for search engine optimization, as well as for his digital and print layout expertise. And with a BS in Communication/Journalism, Colby doubles as a capable wordsmith. His innately resourceful (sometimes offbeat) perspectives cultivate messages that are both expressive and impactful. He switches fluidly between linear, reality-based operations and holistic, imagination-oriented methods, but it’s the sheer visual quality of Colby’s work that speaks loudest.
