Key Characteristics of TechNexxus Mobile Valued-Added Services

Every TechNexxus Valued-Added Service (VAS) will reliably demonstrate one or more of the following characteristics:

» Not a form of basic service but instead adds value to the total service offering
» Stands alone in terms of profitability and/or stimulates incremental demand for core service(s)
» Can operationally stand alone when, and to the extent, desired
» Does not cannibalize basic service unless advantageous to all parties
» Can be an add-on to basic service, and as such, may be sold at a premium price
» May provide operational and/or administrative synergy between or among other services
» Not provided merely for diversification

A TechNexxus VAS will never stand in stark contrast to any of the aforementioned characteristics.

Keep in mind that today’s Value-Added Services can become a basic service when it becomes sufficiently commonplace and widely deployed to no longer provide substantive differentiation.

Call / Messaging / Media Management Services

TechNexxus adds value to core telecom services by allowing the subscriber to manage incoming and/or outgoing calls, messages and social media. For example, value-added service interactions occur when the subscriber receives a call, message or digital media. Many management services allow the subscriber to establish when, where, and under what circumstances they may be reached by other parties. This provides value to the core service (voice communications) by way of increased control and flexibility.
 

Mobile Data Services

TechNexxus mobile data services are utilized to obtain information and content, and to optimize transactions. All of these activities are made more meaningful by being tailored to the individual. Location-based services add value through putting the data into a location context for the user. Profiles further enhance the value through personalization.
 

Location Aware Services

TechNexxus location aware services add value to core services by adding location awareness to the core service. Location aware services can be used in conjunction with other mobile communications services and digital media to establish zones for which differentiated treatment may be applied. For instance, a “home zone”, “work zone”, and “premium price zone” could be established to allow an operator to offer differentiated service to its customers.
The wireless carrier benefits from incremental revenues derived from additional usage and from premium charge zones where there is already high demand and perhaps overly taxed system capacity. While the issue of potential cannibalization of existing service arises, customer behavior and studies indicate a net benefit derived from overall increased usage and revenues.
